In association with the University College For The Creative Arts over 300 pieces of fine art and craft have been selected by Royal Academician Humphrey Ocean; Sarah Martin, Curator at Turner Contemporary; Mike Butler from the Sidney Cooper Gallery; Jessica Baum, Independent Curator and Ben Kidger, the festival Curator, for this year's Canterbury Festival Art Fair.

Enzo Marra is based in the vibrant city of Brighton on the south coast of England. He produces succinct, but evocative (and sometimes disturbing) portraiture. Often considering his subjects from a slightly voyeuristic perspective, he leaves us with the feeling that we are watching someone without their knowledge. It's that voyeuristic tendency we all seem to have in common that forces us to keep looking at his paintings, compelling us to invade these moments of solitude. Occasionally though, for just a moment, you get the feeling you are the one being watched. Marra generally uses undiluted oils to create his work. He uses a contemporary blend of influences from german expressionism and the London school.

Kerrecoes' work, frequently abstract, invariably focuses on the concept of identity. He seems driven by a desire to understand who he is and what makes him that person. Is he little more than a machine, programmed to function in an extremely specific way? Is his identity just an elaborate illusion, the result of billions of chemical reactions? His work appeals to others because so many of us, at one time or another, are forced to confront who we really are. We can hide behind a facade for so much of the time but every now and then, inadvertently, we let our true selves show. Kerrecoe expertly taps into the insecurity, the unsettling fear that we are not actually in control of our selves, of our identities.....of who we really are.
